Mayors of 10 cities and districts in Uzbekistan will be dismissed, and 28 will be subject to disciplinary measures. This was announced today, July 17, at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The meeting focused on the work done in the first half of the year and future tasks.

According to reports, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov proposed disciplinary measures against 28 district-city mayors who have shown systemic deficiencies in their activities. This includes the dismissal of the mayors of Qoraozak, Takhiatash, Uchquduq, Tashkent, Furqat, Gurlan, Mirzaobod, Yangiariq, Mingbuloq districts, and the city of Ghazgon.

Additionally, the President outlined priority tasks in the areas of economy, finance, and poverty reduction.

In the case of the Fergana region, it was analyzed that substantial resources have not yet been utilized. Henceforth, district governors will be responsible for increasing production in their respective areas.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance was instructed to define 10 accountability indicators for increasing regional production.
