5633Today, August 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting to discuss issues related to ensuring energy efficiency and expanding the use of alternative energy sources. This was reported by the President's press service.
During the meeting, the President reviewed the methods demonstrated during his visit to the Fergana region in July this year, which aimed at doubling the savings of electricity and natural gas in the region. Following this, scientists from Fergana Polytechnic Institute studied electricity consumption in the Fergana district.
It was noted that the annual loss at the "Logon" substation, which serves 4.6 thousand households and 233 entrepreneurs, is 5 million kilowatt hours. This is 1.5 times more than the standard for natural loss.
According to calculations, it is possible to prevent the loss of 765,000-kilowatt hours by evenly distributing the load on 113 transformers receiving electricity from this substation. Most importantly, this can be achieved without additional cost — simply by putting the management of the district electric company on the right track. It was noted that there are 1,800 over-consuming substations and about 100,000 transformers in the republic. Officials were instructed to implement this experience in other regions to save energy.
It was also mentioned that Karakalpakstan has shown good results in saving gas. Specifically, 145 million cubic meters of gas per year have been saved by replacing old burners in 95,000 households with energy-saving ones and by insulating the heating systems. Additionally, 16,000 needy families have been provided with such stoves funded by the local budget. Through this, 20 million cubic meters of gas will be saved, and 12 billion soums will remain at the disposal of the needy population. Consequently, the goal has been set to replace the heating systems of 1 million houses in Uzbekistan with energy-saving ones.
It is also worth remembering that the construction of wind power plants and industrial enterprises began in Karakalpakstan earlier. President Mirziyoyev announced that even if the consumption of electricity and gas exceeds the limit by 20%, the basic tariff will be maintained.
