The tragic incident occurred when he fell from the fourth floor of the Internal Affairs Department building during an ongoing investigation in Tashkent. Hayat Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General’s Office, provided this information.

According to reports, the young man’s death has led to the initiation of a criminal case under Article 208 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the inaction of authorities.

To recap, on May 22 of this year, Hafizullah Turgunbayev, aged 21, was brought to the Internal Affairs Agency of Chilonzor district in Tashkent, where he tragically lost his life. The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the young man had jumped from a window on the fourth floor, from a restroom, in an attempt to evade the ongoing investigation. An internal investigation is currently underway to assess the conduct of the law enforcement officials involved.

Subsequently, the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent city released a video shedding light on the incident. In the footage, Hafizullah, who had been taken to the Chilonzor District Internal Affairs Agency, can be seen engaging in a brief conversation with the state attorney. However, the video does not provide any further footage of him being questioned, requesting to use the restroom, or moving within the building.
