Families of gas station explosion victims receive 100 million soums compensation

On July 16, an explosion at a gas station in the Kokdala district of the Kashkadarya region claimed the lives of four people. The families of the deceased have each received 100 million soums in compensation, the press service of the Kokdala district administration reported.

The compensation was provided on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to support citizens affected by the fire at the gas distribution station in the “Oltin Dala” MFE.

In addition to the payments to the families of the deceased, 50 million soums in cash were provided to citizens who were injured in the fire and are currently receiving medical treatment.

It was noted that the funds were personally delivered to the homes of the victims’ families and the medical facilities of the injured with the participation of the district khokim and local officials.

“In addition, qualified doctors will provide free medical services to the injured citizens until they fully recover. Their treatment and medication expenses will also be fully covered by the state,” the report added.

It should be recalled that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident under Articles 205 (abuse of power or official authority) and 259 (violation of fire safety rules) of the Criminal Code.
