In the boundary of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, authorities discovered two covert pathways

The State Security Service reported the detection of a cross-border criminal syndicate comprising citizens from both nations, engaged in smuggling valuable goods across the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan border.

According to reports from the Andijan regional department of the DSC, diligent search efforts led to the identification of two clandestine routes linking "A. Navoiy" neighborhood in Khonobod to Bekobod village in the Suzoq district of Kyrgyz Republic.

Initially, a Kyrgyz citizen attempted to transport 813 mobile phones in 16 bags into Uzbekistan, along with 1 kg and 745 gr of gold bars and jewelry, but was intercepted with physical evidence.

Continuing their swift action, authorities in Andijan identified additional accomplices. Subsequent raids on 10 locations tied to the criminal network revealed mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and accessories, all processed through this illicit network.

Both tunnels, measuring 20 meters in depth, 70-80 cm in width, and 170-180 cm in height, span 350 meters and 135 meters respectively.

During the operation, authorities seized 3,813 mobile phones, 50 tablets, 97 laptops, and over 1,000 accessories, totaling an estimated initial value of 11 billion soums, along with 1 kg and 745 gr of gold and jewelry.

A criminal case has been initiated, with an ongoing preliminary investigation.
