Uzbekistan defeats Australia

On January 30, the Uzbekistan national futsal team played its second match of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup. The team coached by Nodir Eliboyev defeated Australia 4–2.

Australia took an early lead as Jiden Harb scored in the 8th and 9th minutes. Uzbekistan responded quickly, with Anaskhon Rakhmatov finding the net in the 9th minute, followed by a goal from Ikhtiyor Ropiyev in the 11th minute to level the score.

Just before halftime, in the 19th minute, Ilhom Khamroyev scored to give Uzbekistan a 3–2 lead heading into the break.

In the 38th minute of the second half, Muzaffar Akhadjonov scored the final goal of the match, sealing a 4–2 victory for Uzbekistan.

As a result, Nodir Eliboyev’s side moved to the top of Group C of the Asian Cup with four points.

For reference, in their final group-stage match, Uzbekistan will face Japan. The match is scheduled to take place on February 1.
