Woman stabbed to death by husband in Turkey said to be from Samarkand

Earlier, on August 17 this year, it was reported that 33-year-old Nigina Sattorova, a native of Samarkand residing in Turkey’s Istanbul district of Umraniye, was fatally stabbed in the throat by her husband, Umid Sattorov. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
According to the Consulate General, the deceased was from the Samarkand region in Uzbekistan and had been temporarily working in Istanbul. She was fatally stabbed by her 35-year-old husband, Umid Sattorov, following an argument fueled by jealousy.
During the investigation conducted by the Istanbul police, the suspect was apprehended on the morning of August 18 in the Umraniye district. Additionally, B.O., originally from the Jizzakh region, who is suspected of assisting the perpetrator in hiding, was also detained by the police.
Following the conclusion of the investigation, on August 19, the court ordered the detention of the suspects. The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
The necessary documents for repatriating the deceased’s body to Uzbekistan have been processed, with assistance being provided by the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
