Emergency Services respond to gas explosion in Yashnobod District

A gas-air mixture ignited in one of the apartments in the Yashnobod district of Tashkent, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

According to the ministry, on February 26 at 17:37, the Tashkent city Emergency Department received a report about a gas-air mixture flash in the kitchen of an apartment building on Mahtumkuli Street in the "Dustobod" neighborhood. Fire and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. Fortunately, the incident did not result in a fire.

As a result of the explosion, one person sustained burn injuries and was taken to the hospital. Authorities, including employees of the Emergency Department, the Internal Affairs Directorate, the State Security Service, and the prosecutor’s office, arrived at the scene. A preliminary investigation into the incident is currently underway. Life in the high-rise building continues as usual.

It should be recalled that earlier, a gas leak in an apartment in the Gijduvan district of the Bukhara region resulted in the death of a disabled person after sustaining severe injuries.
