Videos showing several individuals engaging in a physical altercation at the “Mangal Fest” festival, held on Taras Shevchenko Street in the Mirabad district of Tashkent, circulated on social media on August 2. The capital’s Main Department of Internal Affairs has responded to the incident.

According to the department, law enforcement officers had been deployed to ensure the peaceful and orderly conduct of the festival. However, some citizens violated public order and became involved in a quarrel. The conflict was promptly stopped by officers of the Internal Affairs Department and the National Guard, preventing more serious consequences.

The individuals involved in the incident were identified and taken to the nearest Internal Affairs Department for a preventive interview. The video footage is currently being reviewed by the Investigative Division of the Mirabad District Department of Internal Affairs. Based on the results of the investigation, a legal assessment will be made regarding the actions of those involved.

It should be noted that a beer festival was previously held on Taras Shevchenko Street from June 27 to 29 this year. However, no official statements were made regarding the event, and it remains unclear who organized it or who authorized it. Feruza Mukhammedjonova, Deputy Chairwoman of the Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party, publicly criticized the beer festival. Member of Parliament Alisher Kadyrov also stated that those who organized and approved the event should be held accountable.
