Power outages possible in Tashkent due to extreme heat

Demand for electricity is expected to increase in Tashkent due to scorching weather. As a result, short-term power outages or emergency shutdowns may occur in some areas. The Tashkent City Main Power Networks branch reported this.

It was noted that high demand may place additional pressure on power grids and equipment. Therefore, specialists are taking measures to ensure the stable operation of electrical networks and quickly eliminate possible faults.

“We ask you to use electricity rationally and economically, and to show understanding toward possible temporary inconveniences,” the report said.

Earlier, it was reported that extreme heat is expected to intensify in Uzbekistan by the end of this week, with temperatures in some areas rising to 44 degrees Celsius. Due to the heat, the Ministry of Health issued recommendations for the population on how to protect themselves from hot weather and take care of their health during scorching summer days.

In addition, due to the heat, the activities of kindergartens in Nukus city and eight other districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan were suspended from July 13 to July 18. Kindergartens in other regions of Uzbekistan may also temporarily close due to the expected abnormal heat.
