Husband sentenced to 12 years for killing wife in Tashkent region

A man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for fatally beating his wife in the Okkurgan district of the Tashkent region. The incident, which sparked public outrage, was previously reported to involve the victim's husband, fiancé, and mother-in-law. This update was reported by Millar.
According to the report, on January 16, a domestic dispute occurred between K.G., born in 1988, and his wife, Sh.U., born in 2001, due to family disagreements. During the altercation, the husband struck the woman, inflicting serious bodily injuries. She sought medical assistance at the Chinaz District Medical Department but later died from her injuries while in the hospital.
Following an investigation and court proceedings, the defendant was found guilty under Article 126-1, Part 8, Subparagraphs “b” and “g” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (domestic violence resulting in death) and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
It is worth recalling that earlier, a 71-year-old woman was stabbed to death in her home in the Surkhandarya region.
