Gas station explodes in Surkhandarya (video)

A blast occurred at a gas station in the Shorchi district of the Surkhandarya region today, August 13, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

According to the ministry, during the transfer of fuel from a tanker truck to a storage tank, a breach in the technological process occurred, causing a flash and resulting in a fire at the gas station located in the Jarqishloq area of the Oqqorgon neighborhood at 12:58.

Eight fire-rescue crews arrived at the scene at 13:07, brought the situation under control at 13:08, and extinguished the fire by 13:16.

The cause and the amount of damage from the blast are being investigated. The regional and district heads of the Emergency Situations Department have arrived at the scene.

No information has been provided regarding injuries or fatalities as a result of the fire.

Earlier, a fire at a gas station was reported in the Jomboy district of the Samarkand region, where KIA Bongo, Damas, and Gentra cars were damaged.
