It is noted that on January 14, 2025, at 23:15, an incident occurred with the “Afrosiyob” high-speed train No. 772, traveling in the Tashkent-Bukhara direction, on the 3872-kilometer route between Ziyavuddin and Navoi stations. An unknown person had dug up a concrete slab under a distance sign on the side of the railway and left it on the track.
The “Afrosiyob” high-speed train, which was heading to Bukhara, crashed into the concrete slab at high speed and stopped for a period of time. After stopping, the train was immediately inspected by a technical team. Despite some damage, the train was deemed safe for further movement and was able to continue its route, arriving at Bukhara railway station at 01:27. The train was 1 hour and 24 minutes late.
There were 133 passengers on board the train, and none were injured.
Specialists from the Ziyavuddin railway line, employees of the Bukhara regional hub, and workers from the transport safety service immediately arrived at the scene. The causes and circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
It should be recalled that earlier in the Tashkent region, a train collided with a Damas car that had become stuck on the tracks. No one was injured in that incident.
