Saida Mirziyoyeva meets with Valentina Matviyenko in Moscow

On May 29, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan and eldest daughter of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with Valentina Matviyenko, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, during her official visit to Moscow. Mirziyoyeva shared the news on her social media platforms.

The discussion focused on the development of cultural and humanitarian dialogue—an important component of Uzbek-Russian relations—as well as support for public initiatives. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of interparliamentary cooperation and interregional ties.

Particular attention was given to joint projects in the fields of education and culture. The participants noted that efforts to open new branches of Russian universities in Uzbekistan, implement youth programs, and expand cultural initiatives are helping to further strengthen the friendship between the two nations.

“A special focus was placed on the implementation of social projects aimed at supporting veterans and children. We unanimously agreed that cultural dialogue and humanitarian exchange remain an important basis for bilateral relations,” Mirziyoyeva wrote.

It is worth noting that during the Uzbek delegation's visit to Moscow on May 28, Saida Mirziyoyeva also held meetings with key Russian officials, including Anton Vaino, Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation; his first deputies Sergey Kiriyenko and Alexey Gromov; and Presidential Assistant Vladimir Medinsky. On the same day, the Press Secretary of the President of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Asadov, met with Dmitry Peskov, Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration and Press Secretary to the President.

It should also be recalled that last month, Saida Mirziyoyeva and Valentina Matviyenko met in Tashkent during the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
