The court of the city of Svobodny, located in Russia’s Amur region, has arrested 11 Uzbek citizens in connection with a mass brawl that took place at a school stadium on May 25. The regional court confirmed the information.

According to case materials, the individuals were found guilty of petty hooliganism under Part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

Taking into account the remorse expressed by some of the accused, the court decided to mitigate the punishment. As a result, two of the defendants were sentenced to 12 days in prison, while the remaining nine received 14-day sentences.

The altercation reportedly broke out during a football match, after which the participants were detained by police. One person required medical assistance following the incident.

It should be noted that similar clashes involving Uzbek citizens have occurred in Russia in recent weeks. Earlier, a fight broke out between North Korean and Uzbek workers at a construction site in Arsenyev, Primorsky Krai. On May 19, another confrontation took place between Chinese and Uzbek employees of a construction company in the Leninsky district of Krasnoyarsk.
