President Mirziyoyev allocates 1 trillion UZS for Andijan’s development

An additional 1 trillion UZS will be allocated to the Andijan region, as announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a meeting on April 16, 2025, focused on the region's comprehensive development and priority tasks.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that Andijan has become one of the leading regions in implementing reforms and bringing positive changes to people's daily lives. Over the past year, more than 4,000 new entrepreneurs started businesses in the region, 51 enterprises transitioned from small to medium-sized, 13 became large-scale, and 450,000 residents were employed.

It was noted that 1.5 million square meters of residential space and 850,000 square meters of non-residential facilities were constructed in the region. As a result, trade and services grew by 13%, and industrial production increased by 7.5% last year.

“Life does not stand still. People are constantly searching, coming up with new ideas and initiatives, and setting significant challenges before us,” said President Mirziyoyev.

In light of this, the President announced the allocation of an additional 1 trillion UZS to the region. He emphasized that regional authorities, including the governor's office, heads of regional organizations, and mayors of 16 cities and districts, must maintain the current momentum by listening to residents and entrepreneurs daily.

“In today’s volatile global economic conditions, every leader must take extraordinary responsibility,” the President stressed.

It is worth noting that President Mirziyoyev arrived in Andijan on April 15, 2025, to closely examine regional development and the lives of its residents. During a public gathering at the “New Uzbekistan” park in New Andijan city, the President proposed naming the city “Bobur City” in honor of Zahiriddin Muhammad Bobur.
