Flights at Navoi Airport to increase 2.3 times

The number of flights operated at Navoi International Airport will be increased 2.3 times. This is stated in the presidential resolution “On measures to improve the efficiency of Navoi International Airport,” adopted yesterday, February 9.
According to the resolution, the following key performance targets will be achieved through the introduction of project management principles at Navoi International Airport by 2030:
The number of flights will be increased 2.3 times to reach 7,000 per year. Passenger traffic will be raised to 150,000 people annually, and cargo traffic will reach 45,000 tonnes per year.
Navoi International Airport LLC will be separated from the centralized operational management system of Uzbekistan Airports JSC, and project management principles will be introduced into its operations.
The executive body of Navoi International Airport LLC will be granted the right to independently:
- Expand additional services aimed at increasing aviation service exports using its own revenues.
- Set tariffs for aircraft refueling and the storage of aviation fuel delivered by foreign airlines in line with global aviation market conditions.
Earlier, it was reported that Navoi International Airport would be separated from the centralized operational management system of Uzbekistan Airports JSC and granted the authority to independently negotiate and sign agreements with local and foreign airlines on passenger and cargo transportation, transit, and technical landings.
