Mirziyoyev arrives in Azerbaijan

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, arrived in Baku on a state visit today, July 2, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.

The Head of State was welcomed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in the capital by First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Yaqub Ayubov, and other senior officials.

In honor of the high-ranking guest, the national flags of both countries were raised, and a guard of honor was lined up.

According to the official program, the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council and other high-level events will be held today. Discussions will focus on further strengthening friendly, strategic, and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, as well as expanding cooperation and exchanges in key priority areas.

In addition, the President of Uzbekistan is scheduled to participate in the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in the city of Khokendi on July 4, where he will also hold a series of bilateral meetings.
