Fabio Cannavaro, a candidate for the position of head coach of the Uzbekistan national football team, visited the National Football Center located in Yukori Chirchik district of Tashkent region, the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) reported.
According to the source, Cannavaro, accompanied by Ravshan Ermatov, First Vice President of the UFA, inspected the facilities and training grounds of the National Football Center.
The World Cup champion and Ballon d’Or winner is reportedly close to being appointed as head coach of the Uzbekistan national team. The Italian specialist has reached a verbal agreement with the Uzbekistan Football Association regarding the position.
It is worth noting that earlier, reports stated that Fabio Cannavaro had arrived in Tashkent together with his coaching staff.
