Incident in Karakalpakstan: first grader was removed from class (video)

A video circulating on social media depicts a first grader being forcibly removed from a classroom in the Ellikkala district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The Children's Ombudsman has responded to this troubling situation.

The incident occurred on September 5 at the 28th school in Ellikkala district, where S.Sh., the mother of the student identified as X.Yo., entered the classroom and removed her son despite the teacher's attempts to intervene.

In light of this event, relevant documentation regarding administrative offenses against S.Sh. and other involved parties has been compiled and submitted to the court. As of today, September 20, the case is under judicial consideration. The dispute arises from ongoing disagreements among family members regarding the child's living arrangements, which are currently being resolved through legal channels.

"X.Yo.'s right to education has been reinstated, and he is continuing his studies at the school. Further updates on the situation will be provided," the report states.
