A supporter of an international terrorist organization has been sentenced to six years in prison in the city of Kokand, Fergana region. The State Security Service reported the incident.

According to the report, a resident of Kokand created a Telegram channel in 2021, where he published materials promoting fanatical ideas and shared them with nine subscribers. Additionally, he established contact via Instagram with a propagandist and instructor of the international terrorist organization "Secretary of Monotheism and Jihad," which is currently active in Syria, and was influenced by their extremist messages.

The individual then exchanged audio and text messages with the propagandist, discussing how to join the jihad in Syria and expressing willingness to become part of the ISI ranks.

He also formed a "community" among close acquaintances and classmates, encouraging them to "migrate" to Syria and join terrorist groups.

As a result of operational measures carried out by the State Security Service and other law enforcement agencies, his illegal activities were stopped and subjected to legal evaluation.

Following this, the Furkat District Court of Criminal Cases found him guilty under Article 244-1, Part 3, Subparagraph "g", and Article 244-2, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It sentenced him to six years in prison.

It should be recalled that earlier, in the Andijan region, a 28-year-old supporter of an international terrorist organization was sentenced to eight years and six months in prison.
