In the Kuva district of the Fergana region, a driver who violated traffic rules caused the death of a 9-year-old boy. The incident was reported by the ’’Bu kun’’ program.
According to the report, the accident occurred around 7:30 am at the 182nd kilometer of the D-105 highway in the district, while the boy was on his way to school. A 21-year-old driver, operating a Damas vehicle assigned to him under a letter of authorization, hit a third-grade student of school no. 66, who was crossing at a pedestrian walkway.
The child was taken to the district central hospital for first aid. However, despite medical efforts, he died in the hospital.
’’I was walking along the roadside, then crossed over to the other side. As I was crossing, a car was turning from that direction. I looked toward that car and didn’t notice the pedestrian crossing. Then a child suddenly ran out, and I hit him,’’ the driver said.
Following the incident, the Investigation department under the Kuva district Internal Affairs department opened a criminal case under part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code (Violation of traffic safety rules resulting in the death of a person). A preliminary investigation has been launched, and the suspect has been placed in custody as a preventive measure.
It is worth noting that earlier, a Spark driver struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road in Tashkent’s Mirzo Ulugbek district.
