Man jailed for harassing woman in building stairwell

Yesterday, September 9, the Mirzo Ulugbek district criminal court of Tashkent heard the case of a 19-year-old man who harassed a woman in the entrance of an apartment building, the ’’Nemolchi.uz’’ reported.

According to the report, the woman was returning home when B.T. followed her into the entrance on September 8. He asked for her phone number, and when she refused, he began harassing her. The woman screamed, and B.T., frightened, fled the scene.

In court, B.T. admitted his guilt and asked for leniency. The court sentenced him to five days of administrative detention under Article 41-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (sexual harassment). It was also revealed that the individual, born in 2006, had previously been held administratively liable for another offense.

It is worth noting that earlier, a 44-year-old doctor in Tashkent was sentenced to five days of administrative arrest for committing sexual harassment under the pretext of conducting a medical examination. During the court hearing, the doctor admitted his guilt, expressed sincere remorse for his actions, and apologized to the patient and her family members.
