On July 24, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

During the call, the Turkmen national leader sincerely congratulated the head of state on his birthday, wishing him good health, happiness, and great success, as well as peace, tranquility, and prosperity for the fraternal people of Uzbekistan.

The two sides also discussed urgent issues concerning the further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership. These discussions were held within the framework of implementing the agreements reached at the high-level meeting in Samarkand in April of this year.

It was noted with satisfaction that mutual trade between the two countries is growing rapidly, cooperation between enterprises and business circles is expanding, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges are actively continuing.

In addition, views were exchanged on issues of international and regional importance, including preparations for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries and the upcoming Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov, congratulations on President Mirziyoyev’s birthday are being sent by foreign states, governments, parliaments, influential international organizations, heads of major foreign companies, prominent public, religious, and sports figures, as well as all regions of Uzbekistan and Uzbeks living abroad.

The congratulatory messages highlight the significant results achieved under President Mirziyoyev’s leadership in implementing irreversible political reforms, socio-economic renewal, improving the well-being of the population, ensuring stability and consistent development of the country, and strengthening its international standing.

“Wishes were expressed to our President for good health and new successes in his responsible state activities, and to the multinational people of Uzbekistan for peace, tranquility, and prosperity. In addition, telephone conversations of the Head of State with the leaders of many countries are planned today,” Asadov said.
