Uzbek Imam leading the Hajj pilgrimage dies

Rabbimqul Muhammadiyev, the imam-khatib of the Rakat Mosque in Tashkent’s Yakkasaroy district, who was accompanying Uzbek pilgrims during this year’s Hajj season, has passed away. The news was reported via the mosque’s official Telegram channel.
According to the report, the imam became ill in the holy city of Medina, fell into a coma, and died in the early morning of May 26.
"Today, in Medina, after an illness, he submitted his trust to my Lord. He was a knowledgeable man who lived by his teachings. May Allah grant patience to his loved ones, students, and family members," the statement read.
The exact cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.
For reference, Rabbimqul Muhammadiyev had served as the imam-khatib of the Rakat Mosque since 2019. Prior to that, he was the imam-khatib of the Imam Termiziy Mosque in the Almazar district of Tashkent.
