As previously reported, Rabbimqul Muhammadiyev, the imam-khatib of the Rakat mosque in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent who was leading a group of pilgrims during this year’s Hajj season, passed away on the morning of May 26 in Medina after falling into a coma. According to the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan, the funeral prayer was performed at the Prophet’s Mosque, and he was laid to rest in the Baqi’ cemetery.

It was noted that Rabbimqul Muhammadiyev departed for Medina on May 23 as the leader of the 38th group of pilgrims from Tashkent. During the flight, he reportedly fell asleep and did not regain consciousness. Upon arrival at Medina International Airport, doctors examined him and found that he was in critical condition, unresponsive, and unconscious. He was immediately transferred to the Muovasat clinic in Medina.

Medical examinations revealed that the imam had suffered from acute cerebral circulation disorders, structural changes in the brain stem, and cerebral edema. On May 24, he underwent surgery to reduce the brain swelling, but his condition remained critical. Despite the efforts of doctors, he passed away on May 26.

Rabbimqul Muhammadiyev had been serving as an imam-khatib since 1997. Over the years, he worked in the Aq Tunukali, Ibrahim Ota, Imam Termiziy, and Rakat mosques in Tashkent.

It is worth noting that the first group of Uzbek pilgrims left for the holy land on May 13 of this year.
