Military prosecutor Botir Kudratkhodjaev to lead Uzbekistan’s Emergency Services

By presidential decree, Botir Bahromovich Kudratkhodjaev has been appointed Minister of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan. The appointment was announced by Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.
In connection with his new role, Kudratkhodjaev was relieved of his position as Deputy Prosecutor General and Military Prosecutor of Uzbekistan. His candidacy had earlier been approved by deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
The reasons for the dismissal of Major General Abdulla Kuldoshev, who had served as Minister of Emergency Situations since 2022, were not disclosed.
Kudratkhodjaev has an extensive background in Uzbekistan’s legal and law enforcement sectors. From 2014 to 2016, he served as the Acting Prosecutor of the Surkhandarya Region before becoming the Regional Prosecutor. He then held the position of Prosecutor of Tashkent City from 2016 to 2017. Between 2017 and 2020, he served as Director of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement under the Prosecutor General’s Office. From 2020 to 2022, he was the Prosecutor of Khorezm Region. Since 2022, he has served as Deputy Prosecutor General and Military Prosecutor of Uzbekistan.
