Earlier, QALAMPIR.UZ received an appeal from residents of the Zamin district in the Jizzakh region, stating that electricity, gas, and water issues have remained unresolved for the past 10 years. According to the appeal, the village of Gallakor was included in the "Obod Mahalla" program but was subsequently neglected. As a result, residents have been disconnected from the gas network since 2015, and the gas pipeline has not been fully installed, leading to further electricity supply issues. Additionally, the pipes laid for drinking water have not been properly repaired.

Furthermore, residents reported the absence of a village medical center, a modern school, and kindergartens, while poor road conditions continue to create difficulties for the community.

The Jizzakh regional branch of "Regional Electric Networks" JSC addressed the electricity problems in the village. According to the statement, efforts to improve the electricity supply in Gallakor were initiated as part of the "Rural Infrastructure Development" project, with funding from the World Bank’s International Development Association and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. The regional government had commissioned the "Single Customer Service Engineering Company" SUE to carry out construction and installation work.

However, the project’s implementation was not coordinated with the regional branch of "Regional Electric Networks" JSC. As a result, since the connection of households to the power grid was not included in the design and estimate documentation, the completed work cannot yet be put into operation.

The organization further stated that it has submitted proposals to develop design and estimate documentation to improve the electricity supply in the village. However, the funds allocated for construction and installation have proven insufficient to fully install a power transmission network in the neighborhood. Although proposals were repeatedly made to address the most complex areas, objections from the local population delayed the process. Nonetheless, reinforced concrete poles and transformer stations were installed as part of the project.

"In order to eliminate the above shortcomings, we inform you that the targeted program of the regional branch of 'Territorial Electric Networks' for 2025 was approved by the end of 2024. These facilities will be implemented in the coming years within the framework of the targeted program. Additionally, implementation will depend on the allocation of republican or local budget funds, based on the resolutions and decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan," the statement said.
