The body of a resident from Namangan who died in the earthquake was returned to Uzbekistan

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul revealed the identity of another Uzbek who died in the earthquake in Turkey.
According to the General Consulate, this victim was a 42-year-old woman from Namangan. On 12 February this year, the body of the deceased was returned to Uzbekistan.
“May God have mercy on the deceased. We wish patience to the loved ones. In this regard, we would like to thank those who provided material and moral support to the General Consulate,” the message reads.
The body of a 40-year-old Namangan, who died in the earlier earthquake, was sent to Tashkent on 11 February of this year.
It should be recalled that on 6 February this year, two earthquakes with a magnitude of more than seven occurred in the southeast of Turkey (at 04:17 a.m. local time – 7.7 points and at 13:24 p.m. – 7.6 points). The devastating earthquake was also felt in neighboring countries, including Syria, Lebanon, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the Republic of Cyprus and Iraq.
Following the tragedy, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced seven days of mourning for the victims of the natural disaster in Turkey. The Turkish state flags were lowered to half-mast across the country.
Also, Uzbekistan is actively participating in the clean-up efforts of the earthquake that occurred in Turkey. At the request of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a search and rescue team of 100 people was sent to Turkey on 9 February this year.
In addition, on 6 February this year, Uzbekistan sent humanitarian aid to Turkey, which was devestated by a strong earthquake.
