In Jizzakh, a teacher who hit his student faced consequences

A teacher in the Zomin district of the Jizzakh region was disciplined for slapping a student, as reported by the Children's Ombudsman. 

The Children's Ombudsman received a complaint from the mother of the student who was assaulted. The mother detailed that on December 26, 2023, the teacher, identified as S.M., struck her seventh-grade son multiple times on the face and verbally abused him. 

Following the Children's Ombudsman's intervention, the Minister of Preschool and School Education thoroughly investigated the incident. Specialized officials from the Department of Preschool and School Education, Zomin District, Jizzakh Region, conducted an inquiry, leading to the termination of S.M.'s employment contract by the school director. 

Furthermore, the Zomin district court held a legal proceeding regarding the teacher's actions on January 23 of this year. S.M. was found guilty of Article 41 (Insult) and Article 52 (Inflicting minor bodily injury) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. Consequently, he received a fine equivalent to 20 times the base calculation amount. 

It's worth recalling that last month, an English teacher in Margilon, Fergana region, threw a phone at a student, causing head injuries.
