Individual concealing gold in genitals detained in Uzbekistan

A citizen attempting to smuggle jewelry by concealing it in the genitals has been arrested at the Tashkent region’s “Navoiy” customs border post, the Customs Department reported.

According to the Customs Committee’s Personal Security Department, in a joint operation with officers from the “Navoiy” customs border post, a citizen entering Uzbekistan through the post was subjected to a personal search due to suspicious behavior during the customs inspection.

During the search, jewelry items weighing 314 grams were reportedly found concealed in the genitals. The total value of the seized jewelry, taken as material evidence, amounted to 316 million UZS.

It was noted that pre-investigation checks are currently being conducted in connection with the case.

Earlier, a foreign citizen carrying jewelry items covertly inside underwear was reportedly arrested at the “Qorasuv” customs border post in the Andijan region.
