Jaloliddin Masharipov, a key player of the Uzbekistan national team and a footballer for Iran’s Esteghlal club, has undergone surgery due to injury, the club’s press service reported.
“Following his injury, Jaloliddin Masharipov was sent abroad for treatment and underwent surgery. We wish Masharipov good health and a successful return to the pitch,” the Iranian club said in an official statement.
For reference, Masharipov last played for the national team on June 10, 2025, in the final World Cup qualifier against Qatar. Since then, he has missed the CAFA Nations Cup tournament as well as national team training camps during the autumn international break.
It is worth noting that earlier reports said the injury sustained by Uzbekistan national team defender Husniddin Alikulov, who plays for Turkey’s Rizespor, in a match against Goztepe was serious and also required surgery.
