Jahongir Ahmedov appointed to new position

On July 10, Jahongir Odilkhojayevich Ahmedov was appointed First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Director of the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The relevant resolution was signed by the President of Uzbekistan.

Before this appointment, Jahongir Ahmedov had been serving as Director of the Children’s Content Development Center, established under the Ministry of Preschool and School Education in accordance with Presidential Resolution No. 183 dated May 15, 2025.

Jahongir Ahmedov also worked for some time as a leading inspector of the division for the development of creative organizations and cinematography at the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan.

For reference, Jahongir Ahmedov was born on February 4, 1983, in Tashkent region. He graduated from Secondary School No. 25. From 2002 to 2008, he studied directing at the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture, completing both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He is an associate professor at the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts.

Ahmedov began his career in feature filmmaking in 2009 by shooting the romantic comedy “Uylanish.” Although it was his first step into cinema, the film was warmly received by movie fans. Jahongir Ahmedov is also known for the films “Omad,” “Tundan tonggacha,” “Til qursin,” “Majnun,” “Islomxo‘ja” and “Ilhaq.”
