Regional conflicts are expanding, and the arms race is intensifying. Respect for universal values, international legal norms, and international diplomacy is weakening. This was stated today, January 13, during an expanded meeting of the Security Council chaired by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev, focused on strengthening the country’s military security and defense.

“One thing must be clearly understood: the nature of modern warfare has fundamentally changed. Any state that believes it can win a war solely by relying on the number of tanks, aircraft, or soldiers is gravely mistaken. Today’s battles are conducted through artificial intelligence, digital command systems, long-range high-precision strike capabilities, cyber and robotic technologies, as well as political and economic pressure,” the head of state said.

The president stressed that peace and stability are becoming the most valuable assets and must not be taken for granted for even a moment. To safeguard these assets, every sector and industry must shift to a proactive mode of work, capable of responding to threats in advance.

The Supreme Commander-in-Chief also outlined the most important tasks for the future.

According to him, priority attention will be given to further improving the system of military personnel training.

“We must not forget that modernizing military education and personnel training is a key condition for shaping the army’s new image,” the president said.
