21290Abdurahmon Tashanov, chairman of the "Ezgulik" Society, has highlighted a disparity in justice, noting that while Anais Torayeva, daughter of former Deputy Minister of Agriculture Alisher Torayev, remains free, an ordinary citizen faces imprisonment. Tashanov himself was sentenced to 5 years and 1 month in prison for misappropriating 9.95 billion soums through fake contracts, in connection with Alisher Torayev. Anais Torayeva, who was implicated, remains free, with Tashanov noting that citizens are being unfairly criminalized. He expressed these views on his Facebook page.
According to Tashanov, in 2021, a young mother of three bought the slimming drug "Reduksin" from a pharmacy near ToshMI, consumed part of it during her pregnancy, and later sold the remaining portion for 450,000 soums online. The court sentenced the woman, identified as M.D., to two years in prison, even though she has children aged 2, 3, and 5.
Tashanov criticized the decision made by the Olot District Court of the Bukhara region, stating that a young man who sold three unused boxes of "Reduksin" through Telegram was branded a criminal for allegedly selling psychotropic drugs.
"I can foresee that after my post, various official agencies will issue statements to justify their actions, making an example of this poor young man. The judiciary in Olot is corrupt, gangrene has already taken root in the system," Tashanov remarked.
He urged women to avoid taking stimulants unless they are connected to powerful officials, sarcastically noting that being of "average height" is enough to avoid problems.
As a reminder, on September 5, 2024, the Mirzo Ulugbek District Court heard the case against former Deputy Minister Alisher Torayev, his daughter Anais Torayeva, and others involved in embezzlement and fraud related to the Ministry of Agriculture. Among the accused was Mansur Kozibekov, a former National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture accountant.
In September 2021, De Nova Agro, a company owned by Torayev's son, won a 9.95 billion soums tender to supply 1 million grape seedlings. According to the court’s findings, the seedlings were never delivered, and fake electronic invoices were issued to falsely indicate receipt of the products, leading to the transfer of state funds. Alisher Torayev partially confessed to his role in the scheme.
The court found Alisher Torayev guilty of violating Article 167, Part 3, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code (embezzlement using official authority) and Article 209, Part 2, Clause "a" (career falsification by a repeat offender). He was sentenced to six years in prison and banned from holding leadership, financial, or official positions in state organizations for two years.
Mansur Kozibekov received a sentence of five years and six months for similar charges. Anais Torayeva was sentenced to five years and one month under Article 167, Part 3, Clause "a," and Article 28, Article 209, Part 2, Clause "a" (participation in professional fraud). However, her sentence was postponed until July 8, 2027, to allow her to care for her newborn son, born in July 2024, until he turns three.
