Former deputy Qobul Dusov arrested

On January 24, 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan detained former deputy Qobul Dusov in Samarkand region. This information was shared by human rights activist and chairman of the "Ezgulik" society, Abdurahmon Tashanov, on his Facebook page.

"I received a call from his acquintance, who was brought to the ministry with Kabul and then released. The authorities said he violated probation and replaced his suspended sentence with a real one," Tashanov writes.

As of now, no official statement has been made regarding the case.

It is important to recall that on November 22, 2024, an open trial concerning a criminal case involving Qobul Dusov was concluded at the Chilonzor district court. According to the court ruling, Dusov was found guilty under Article 140, Part 3, "a" of the Criminal Code (defamation) in relation to Farhod Boqiyev, the Deputy Minister of Preschool and School Education. As a result, Dusov was sentenced to one year of restricted liberty.
