Today, June 16, the open trial in the criminal case against former MP Kobul Dosov concluded. He was sentenced to 5 years and 2 months in prison, according to Aziz Obidov, press secretary of the Supreme Court.

It was reported that, by the verdict of the Shaykhantohur District Criminal Court, Dosov was found guilty under the following articles of the Criminal Code: Article 139 (slander), Part 3, Clause “a”; Article 140 (insult), Part 3, Clause “a”; and Article 237 (false report), Part 2, Clause “g”. These charges were related to offenses committed against five individuals, including officials of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, the Navoi Regional Department of Preschool and School Education, and the Senior Inspector of the Probation Department of the Chirchik City Internal Affairs Department.

Kobul Dosov was sentenced to 5 years and 1 month in prison under Articles 59 and 61 of the Criminal Code. Based on Part 8 of Article 59, this sentence was partially added to the sentence previously imposed by the Arnasay District Criminal Court on February 24, 2025. The overall sentence is to be served in a general-regime penal colony.

The court also ruled that Dosov’s Facebook profile “Kobul Dosov” and the Telegram channel “Kobul Dosov/OFFICIAL CHANNEL/” must be suspended and blocked.

It should be recalled that, according to the verdict of the Chilanzar District Criminal Court dated November 22, 2024, Kobul Dosov was previously found guilty under Article 140, Part 3, Clause “a” (insult) of the Criminal Code and was sentenced to one year of restricted liberty. On January 24 of this year, he was arrested in the Samarkand region.

On the same date, the Yashnabad District Criminal Court ruled to replace the unserved portion of that sentence—11 months and 2 days—with imprisonment, to be served in a correctional colony.

Later, on February 24, the open trial in a separate criminal case against Kobul Dosov concluded at the Arnasay District Criminal Court, and a new verdict was announced. He was again found guilty under Article 139 (slander), Part 3, Clause “a”, and Article 140 (insult), Part 3, Clause “a”, and sentenced to 1 year and 2 months in prison. This sentence was to be served consecutively by Article 59 (imposition of punishment for committing several crimes), Part 8 of Article 59, and Article 61 (rules for calculating the addition of punishments) of the Criminal Code. The sentence was to be served in a correctional colony.
