74895A major scandal broke out during a concert by renowned singer Yulduz Usmanova in the Namangan region, after it was revealed that organizers had sold more than 7,000 tickets for a venue with a capacity of just 2,664 seats. The incident sparked outrage on social media on May 29, prompting a response from the Department of Public Security under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The concert took place on May 28 at the summer amphitheater of the "Valley of Legends" park on Girvonsoy Street in the Davlatabad district. The venue consists of two sectors and is officially designed to accommodate 2,664 spectators.
To increase capacity, the organizers placed an additional 500 seats in front of the amphitheater for guests arriving with special invitations. However, most ticket holders brought along 2–3 minor children each, who occupied seats designated for others, creating widespread confusion and overcrowding.
As a result, the venue quickly filled beyond capacity, and many spectators were unable to enter. A stampede was narrowly avoided thanks to the intervention of law enforcement.
To ensure public safety, approximately 100 personnel from the regional Department of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, and the Emergency Situations Department were deployed. Authorities confirmed that their timely intervention prevented any serious incidents during the event.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an official investigation into the incident. Further details are expected following the results of the inquiry.
