The head of a limited liability company specializing in road construction and repair, identified as N.Sh., was arrested for demanding $50,000 to facilitate an order for a road construction project. The incident was reported by the State Security Service.

According to the report, N.Sh. exploited the trust of another individual by promising to secure a $500,000 construction contract from a foreign company that had won the tender for the "Tashkent-Boysun" highway construction project. In exchange, he requested a 10% commission, amounting to $50,000. He was apprehended by the State Security Service in cooperation with the General Prosecutor's Office.

The authorities disclosed that N.Sh. has a history of prior convictions but has failed to reform his behavior.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Articles 168 (Fraud) and 211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code, with further investigations underway.

This incident follows previous reports of criminal cases against the deputy governors in Karakalpakstan and Bukhara for economic crimes.
