In the Yukorichirchik district of the Tashkent region, a 7-year-old boy was beaten by his mother and stepfather. The incident was reported by the Children's Ombudsman.
According to the report, the Ombudsman for Children's Rights received an appeal concerning a minor boy named G.I., born in 2018, residing in the Yukorichirchik district.
The appeal stated that on June 30 of this year, the boy ran away from home in the middle of the night due to rough treatment and beatings by his mother and stepfather. He reportedly knocked on the gate of a neighboring home and asked for help.
At the request of the Children's Ombudsman, the situation was urgently investigated by the "Inson" social service center.
The boy’s mother, identified as G.K., born in 1995, was interviewed, and appropriate measures were taken regarding the situation.
The child’s mother was held administratively liable under Part 1 of Article 47 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility for failing to fulfill her obligations to raise and educate her child.
The mother and stepfather were also informed that the child is under state protection by the Law “On the Protection of Children from All Forms of Violence” and were warned that any further harmful actions against him would result in legal consequences.
It was reported that a social case has been opened regarding this family, and measures are being taken to ensure the child’s protection.
Earlier in Tashkent, a stepfather who repeatedly raped an 11-year-old girl was sentenced to 16 years and 6 months in prison under several articles of the Criminal Code.
