Grants are given to enterprises that have attracted large foreign brands

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that it is necessary to attract prestigious foreign brands to Uzbekistan in order to expand exports.  He spoke about it today, August 18, at an open dialogue with businessmen.

It is said that 50 of the world’s most famous brands, whose annual market exceeds 100 billion dollars, are very interested in working with Uzbek enterprises.

Negotiations were held with major brands of Spain, Germany, Poland, and Turkey.  They stated that they are ready to place orders worth 3 billion dollars to local enterprises.

It is noted that 3 biggest issues will be solved with the entry of foreign brands into the country. These are:

• International standards, ecology and certification requirements are introduced to production.  For this, specialists of local enterprises are trained based on their demand;
• Decent working conditions are created for workers in local enterprises;
• A favorable customs regime will be introduced for the import and export of brand products.

According to reports, a grant of 50 million soums will be allocated to enterprises that have attracted big brands.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was the first to offer this grant to the “Fazman textile” enterprise in Namangan, which attracted the German “Diesel” brand, and to the “Sino international” enterprise in Andijan, which attracted the American “Nike” brand.
