21335As of 17:00 on January 1, 2025, a total of 1,040 babies were born across Uzbekistan, according to the Ministry of Health. This figure includes 492 boys and 548 girls.
The highest number of births was recorded in Fergana region, where 154 babies were born, followed by Kashkadarya region with 119 births, Tashkent city with 112 births, Samarkand region with 101 births, and Surkhandarya region with 89 births.
Meanwhile, Navoi region had the lowest number of births, with only 18 babies.
The report also highlighted the occurrence of 7 sets of twins (15 children in total), including 12 twins from two fetuses and 3 sets from three fetuses.
This year's total is comparable to last year’s figures, with 1,043 births recorded on the same day in 2024. However, it is lower than the numbers seen in previous years, such as 1,448 in 2022 and 1,312 in 2023.
As stated in the Ministry’s report, medical professionals are continuing to provide high-quality care to all newborns in accordance with established standards.
