Previously, there was widespread social media speculation regarding the apprehension of a Tashkent city judge from the Yangihayot district for allegedly accepting a bribe. The Supreme Council of Judges has responded to these claims.
Reports indicate that on May 1, an individual named U.R., who is currently unemployed, was apprehended by law enforcement officers while allegedly receiving $1,000 in exchange for reducing fines for administrative offenses in the Yangihayot District Court of Tashkent city, purportedly facilitated by acquaintances within the court.
The authorities stated: “Appropriate procedural measures are underway in this matter. The rumors circulating on social media about a judge being caught accepting a bribe are not true.”
