As previously reported, a water pipeline burst in the Shaykhantohur district of Tashkent on July 10, injuring three people. The company responsible for the system, Veolia Energy, has announced that it will fully compensate for the damages caused by the incident. This was confirmed by the company’s press service.
According to the official statement, mechanical strength tests were being conducted today at 10:40 a.m. as part of preparations for the 2025–2026 heating season. The tests took place near the TC-10 boiler house, between heat chambers M 0-16 and M 0-17, at the intersection of Farobiy and Shikotor streets. These tests were carried out under a pressure of 16 atmospheres.
During the inspection, water began leaking from an 800-millimeter-diameter pipe at a pressure of 12.6 atmospheres. It was noted that this section of the heat supply network was originally commissioned in 1989.
The incident caused material damage to nearby commercial properties. In particular, glass windows totaling 8 square meters in area were shattered. The affected site was quickly localized, and the supply of hot water to consumers was not disrupted.
“All damage caused to citizens’ property, vehicles, or other assets due to the pipe burst will be fully compensated by Veolia Energy Tashkent,” the company stated.
