11994The number of state units in the executive authorities of Uzbekistan has been streamlined, following a relevant decree issued by the President on October 22.
This decree implements changes and additions to certain documents, resulting in the following adjustments:
- Coordination of the number of state units in various republican and local executive authorities.
- Reduction in the number of deputy heads of ministries and agencies within the economic complex.
According to the decree:
- A unified list was approved, comprising 21 ministries, 14 committees, 26 agencies, and 9 inspectorates, totaling 70 entities.
- The total cap on the management staff of the republic's executive authorities has been set at 53,560 positions, broken down as follows:
- 49,105 from the state budget
- 4,455 from extra-budgetary funds
Additionally, the state units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and the Defense Industry Agency are governed by separate legal documents.
The decree also confirmed the maximum number of employees in the management apparatus of regional and Tashkent city governments to be 868. Regions have been categorized into three groups, each comprising 61 to 70 state units, with the city of Tashkent allocated an additional 105 state units.
Previously, reports indicated the potential budget savings resulting from this reduction in state units within the ministries.
