Individuals who deceived people with false promises of reaching "America," were arrested in Samarkand, as reported by UzA.
Reportedly, leveraging his position within the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade, the official misled people via contacts at the US Embassy, offering visas and trips to the United States. This deceitful scheme led to citizens being exploited. Specifically, an employee of the ministry demanded $14,000 from a resident of Samarkand city in exchange for a visa. However, $10,000 of this sum was seized during the initial transaction.
Furthermore, a person born in the Okdarya district in 1999, presently residing in the United States and having a prior conviction, attempted to unlawfully profit by promising employment in the US through Mexico. Collaborating with a relative studying at the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, they demanded $16,000 from a citizen for this service. During the money exchange, $10,000 of the sum was confiscated by the Department of the State Security Service for Samarkand region while apprehending the institute student.
Presently, criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals.
Additionally, a resident from Okdarya, residing in the United States, had already promised to arrange work in America for four citizens, received $41,600, and utilized it for personal needs.
It's worth noting that previously, in the Okdarya district of Samarkand region, individuals who promised work in the USA in exchange for $20,000 were arrested after demanding $15,000 in advance.
