In Syrdarya region, Uzenergoinspektsiya was found to have unjustifiably charged an entrepreneur 1.1 billion sums in alleged debt. The information was reported by the Business Ombudsman.

According to the report, the head of R.A. LLC in the region filed a complaint with the Business Ombudsman, stating that the company had been wrongfully charged 1.1 billion sums for electricity consumption.

It was established that the regional office of Uzenergoinspektsiya accused the entrepreneur of illegally using electricity and issued an instruction to calculate additional debt.

However, an investigation conducted by the Business Ombudsman revealed that the entrepreneur had in fact been legally connected as a sub-consumer to another company, G.A.G.K. LLC, and that the accrued debt actually belonged to that company. As a result, more than 1 billion sums in unjustified charges imposed on the entrepreneur were canceled.

Administrative measures were taken against the responsible official of the power supply company for violating the law. The official was held administratively liable under Article 215-5 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, which addresses violations of legislation governing the provision of public services.

It is worth noting that earlier, serious legal violations were identified in Tashkent region in the provision of household waste collection services for residents, resulting in nearly 250,000 consumers being charged more than 8.8 billion sums in unjustified payments.
