Uzbekistan's population rankings: Namangan City takes the lead

As of January 1, 2025, Namangan City is the leader in terms of population among districts (cities) in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Statistics Agency.

Namangan City has the largest population with 713.4 thousand people. The second place is occupied by Samarkand City with 595.8 thousand people, followed by Urgut District in Samarkand Region with 572.6 thousand people.

In addition, Andijan City in the Andijan Region has a population of 492.4 thousand people, while Denov District in the Surkhandarya Region has 430.5 thousand people, placing it fifth in the rankings.

The capital's Almazar District remains in sixth place with 412.0 thousand people. Seventh place is held by Pastdargam District in the Samarkand Region with 392.1 thousand people, eighth place by Yunusabad District in Tashkent with 385.2 thousand people, and ninth place by Shaykhantohur District in Tashkent with 369.9 thousand people. Finally, the top ten is completed by Asaka District in the Andijan Region with 362.1 thousand people.

It should be recalled that, as of January 1, 2025, 19,135.8 thousand people live in cities in Uzbekistan, and 18,407.4 thousand people live in rural areas.
