New Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Iraq appointed

The new Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Iraq, Ayubhon Yunusov, presented his credentials to the President of Iraq, Abdullatif Rashid. This was reported by the Dunyo news agency.

It was noted that at the beginning of the meeting following the official ceremony, Abdullatif Rashid warmly recalled his conversations with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during international events.

At the end of the meeting, Abdullatif Rashid congratulated Ayubhon Yunusov on his appointment and wished him great success in his responsible mission.

For reference, Ayubhon Yunusov previously served as head of the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The 50-year-old diplomat graduated from the Tashkent Islamic Institute named after Imam al-Bukhari, Al-Azhar University in Egypt, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, and the Tashkent State University of Law. His areas of specialization include international law, Islamic studies, and Arabic philology. He holds a Candidate of Legal Sciences degree. Since 2003, he has held various positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including at the central office, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Saudi Arabia, and the Consulates General in Jeddah and Dubai (UAE).

It is worth noting that Ayubhon Yunusov also visited Kuwait City on February 6, 2024, as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kuwait.
