Uzbekistan appoints first ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina

1344Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakhtiyor Ibrohimov, has officially presented his credentials to the Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović. The news was reported by the Dunyo news agency.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for the development of bilateral relations. Special attention was given to strengthening cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, culture, and tourism.
Željka Cvijanović praised the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and commended the positive results achieved.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral ties to a qualitatively new level.
For reference, Bakhtiyor Ibrohimov has previously served as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Austria, Albania, and Slovakia. Notably, he presented his credentials to Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen in November 2023, to Albanian President Bajram Begaj in January 2025, and to Slovak President Peter Pellegrini in March 2025.
In addition, in October 2023, Ibrohimov was accredited as Uzbekistan’s permanent representative to several international organizations, including the OSCE, UNODC, IAEA, and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, as well as other UN institutions based in Vienna.
It is worth noting that Ivan Orlić was earlier appointed as Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ambassador to Uzbekistan.
